The 8th “Dragon Eagle” 100-Meter Scroll Live Art Competition

Date: Sunday 0ctober 20th 2024

Competition Time:  1:30pm -3:30pm

Award Announcement: 4:00pm-5:00pm

Venue: Detroit Historical Museum, 5401 Woodward Ave., Detroit, MI 48202

Goals: To teach Chinese culture, to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of arts in children, to foster social and presentation skills.

The Live Art Competition is open to students from kindergarten to grade

twelve in 4 categories:

Division 1: Grade k to Grade 3       

Division 2: Grade 4 to Grade 6

Division 3: Grade 7 to Grade 9       

Division 4: Grade 10 to Grade 12

Registration charge is $38 (include paper material and admission to Detroit Historic Museum). There is limited registration available on a first come first serve basis (Total 100 participants)

Requirements:

  1. Topic will be determined on site. The artwork must be healthy, positive, and uplifting
  2. Only painting and drawing are allowed.

Miscellaneous:

  1. Drawing/painting paper will be provided at the venue
  2. Participants should bring any needed painting tools, art supplies and materials.
  3. The major information should be marked on the back of your piece, check before contest
  4. Every contestant must have an adult companion to join the show for safety reasons.
  5. All competitors must arrive to the contest venue by 1:00:pm to check-in.
  6. The competition will finish at 3:30pm.

When registering, please use the same email used for paying via Zelle. If a different email is used, please add a note with your Zelle payment as to which registration the payment should be credited. Add note "Art Competition" with the payment.
